Docenti > Sofia Pescarin

Breve Curriculum:

Fellowship Researcher in the Virtual Heritage Lab of CNR ITABC (National Council of Research Institute of Technologies Applied to Cultural Heritage). She has a degree in Topography of Ancient Italy, a Master in "Cultural Heritage Museums Technician", a PhD in "History and Computing" (with a dissertation on "GIS and Virtual Reality"). She attended also a master on "Archaeological Air Survey" Held by the University of Siena and English Cultural Heritage. She collaborated with many multimedia projects, even as a Project manager, with private companies and public institution such as CNR ITABC, Italian Soprintendenza and CINECA Supercomputer Centre. Among the realised Cd ROM, DVD, museum installations and virtual navigations: CD ROM "Estense Castle of Ferrara" (1997); CD ROM "La via delle Rocche" on Medieval fortification; Touristic Multimedia Information System "From the Euganean Hills to Adige River"; media Cd ROM "Tharros" on a Punic archaeological site (2000); ROM "Selinunte. Le Cave di Cusa" (2000). She organised in 2002 the exposition "The History of Cartography from Cristoforo Colombo to Virtual Reality", that was held in Palazzo dei Congressi in Rome from 22 to 24 of May. She was the technical Project Manager of the Multimedia Room of the Scrovegni Chapel, whose project brought to the realisation of a Desktop Virtual Reality system for the Giotto's Frescos of the Chapel (direction by CNR ITABC: www.arche-srl.it) and of other 6 installations, that are now accessible in Padova, for the public of the Scrovegni Chapel. In the CNR ITABC lab she is actually involved in projects such as the Via Appia Project, the Aksum Project and the Kazakhstan Project, in the field of virtual reconstruction of archaeological landscapes through VR tools.
